Climate Change
Our stance
We are deeply committed to sustainability and the protection of our planet. We believe that climate change is one of the most pressing issues facing humanity today, and we are dedicated to doing our part in mitigating its devastating impacts.
In our work, we prioritize green infrastructure and conservation techniques that help to preserve natural ecosystems and reduce carbon emissions. We strive to incorporate renewable energy sources and energy-efficient technologies whenever possible. Because we appreciate how landscapes and communities impact on each other in the short and long term, we create sustainable spaces which people enjoy, and which encourage biodiversity and protect the planet.
The built environment has a significant impact on the health of our planet. It is our responsibility to design spaces that are beautiful, and also environmentally responsible.
We take part in leading academic research to keep improving our understanding of how we can protect and regenerate natural ecosystems and mitigate the impacts of climate change. See Linear Urban Forests for information about the research project funded by Harvard.
Climate change is no longer a prediction. It is happening - and much more quickly than predicted. If we were to stop emissions tomorrow, the Earth will continue to heat up for decades. Cities will experience extreme changes.
The urban landscape is often viewed as a commodity which can be built upon (to make money). Nature-based solutions designed by landscape architects can design to mitigate the vulnerabilities of cities, and support people who live in them.
We are dedicated to being leaders in the fight against climate change, and we believe that every small action can make a big difference.
